Biography
Xuenan is a PhD candidate in nutrition studying with Dr. Xiaoli Chen at the University of Minnesota. With her background in nutrition and dietetics, she is passionate about the impact of diet in metabolic homeostasis and dedicated to address the historical underrepresentation of female population in biomedical research. Currently, Xuenan's doctoral work focuses on the sexual dimorphic molecular mechanism in obesity and aging, with an emphasis on the protective role of estrogen signaling in females and other signaling molecules. Outside of the lab, Xuenan enjoys reading, writing, pottery, and spending time with friends, family, and her cat.
