Student Advisory Committee

About

The Food Science and Nutrition Student Advisory Committee (SAC) was established in 2019 to advocate for both the undergraduate and graduate student populations of the Department of Food Science and Nutrition. The committee strives to provide an outlet for students who seek to improve the educational experience of all students and to help foster community and collaboration between undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty. This group holds regular meetings and roundtable discussions where students are free to discuss their ideas openly and candidly.

Mission

The Student Advisory Committee (SAC) was established to represent and serve the undergraduate and graduate students of the Department of Food Science and Nutrition (FSCN) at the University of Minnesota. This committee serves to: facilitate communication between undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, and alumni of the Food Science and Nutrition community; advocate for all Food Science and Nutrition students to FSCN faculty, staff, and administration; and provide networking and social opportunities for Food Science and Nutrition students. Membership is open to all Food Science and Nutrition undergraduate and graduate students. All members of the Committee must currently be enrolled students in good standing within the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS).
