The Department of Food Science and Nutrition at the University of Minnesota is currently seeking an:
Assistant or Associate Professor in

Analytical and Food Chemistry

Join FScN’s growing team of researchers and academics as a faculty member in Analytical and Food Chemistry. This position will be a nine-month, tenure-track appointment involving 50% research and 50% teaching that supports the mission of the Department of Food Science and Nutrition. The appointee is expected to develop a strong extramurally funded research program focusing on the chemistry of one or more of the following components of food products: lipids, food bioactives, and/or flavor, with additional emphasis on their analytical chemistry.

The appointee will be expected to develop collaborations with other investigators within the Department, the College, and the University, including college programs and initiatives on sustainable agriculture and food resource utilization. Teaching responsibilities will include an equivalent of at least 2 courses per year at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels. The appointee will be expected to mentor graduate (MS and PhD) and undergraduate students. An integral part of the position is that the appointee will be expected to actively engage in developing a cultural climate where all are welcome and able to achieve their educational and professional goals.
