UMN DI Director Wins ACEND Award

Therese Liffrig, MPH, RDN, LD, Director of the UMN Dietetic Internship, has been awarded the 2025 Outstanding Dietetics Educator Award for DI programs in the West Central District. The award recognizes the teaching, mentoring, and leadership activities of faculty in ACEND®-accredited dietetics education programs.  During the course of her five and a half years as Director, the DI has seen improved intern pass rates on the RDN Exam, with an impressive 100% pass rate for the past 3 years, has added a pathway for post-doctoral students to complete their supervised practice and sit for the RDN Exam, added flexible payment options to ease the financial burden of the program to help with greater inclusivity of underrepresented groups and those facing financial barriers, and supported Preceptors with ways to earn continuing education credit and enhance their presentation skills.
