Our students definitely take advantage of the lull between semesters, getting valuable work and volunteer experiences. Below are just some of the things our nutrition students got up to:
Avery Erickson worked as a SNAP outreach intern as well as a dietary aide at several hospitals. Avery is also currently the Social Chair for the Student Organization of Nutrition and Dietetics (SOND).
Maddie Johnson’s 2023 experience: “This summer I am interning with the Gopher Football team as a nutrition intern and also interning at the Training Haus Flagship in Eagan as an undergraduate dietetic intern! I am able to work with the collegiate athlete population at the University of Minnesota and learn from the Assistant Director of Performance Nutrition. At Training Haus, I have the opportunity to work with athlete populations ranging from professional athletes to high school athletes, and also the general active population of all ages. This vast exposure to performance nutrition on all scales has solidified my passion for, and dedication to, working as a sports dietitian in the future.”
Iman Idiris: “A fun experience I’ve been working on this summer is my Food, Environment and Design internship through CFANS!”
