The University of Minnesota Department of Food Science and Nutrition (FSCN) will host its 2015 Advisory Council Spring Showcase on Wednesday, May 13 at the North Star Ballroom located in the St. Paul Student Center. The event is free and open to the community. 

The spring showcase provides a unique opportunity for faculty, staff, students, industry professionals and the community to network while learning more about FSCN and its current initiatives. 

Event highlights include a keynote speaker, gluten roundtable discussion and a clean labels discussion. Additionally, current students will have poster presentations throughout the day, and tours of the FSCN labs will be available in the afternoon. A complimentary breakfast and boxed lunch will be provided.

8:00 a.m. – Continental breakfast served and student poster session

8:30 a.m. – Event opening with welcoming remarks from CFANS Dean Brian Buhr and FSCN

                     Department head Francisco Diez

9:00 a.m. – Keynote speaker Dr. Jeff Stamp, CEO of Bold Thinking, LLC

                     “Now You See It, Others Don’t: How Your Ideas Become Market Opportunities”

10:00 a.m. – Gluten round table discussion

Participants will be able to take part in two tours, each lasting 30 minutes. The first tour will run from 1:30-2:00 p.m. with the second following from 2:15-2:45 p.m.
