This laboratory-scale processing equipment reduces the need for large plant trials, accelerates development, and helps the researcher become more familiar with how formulas and ingredients interact with processes.

Our Ultra High Temperature (UHT) and High Temperature Short Time (HTST) laboratory scale processing system allows for the controlled heat processing of small volume liquid samples. The system runs from 1 – 3 Liters of product /minute (0.3 – 0.8 gallons/minute). Processing can be conducted on the standard shell and tube heat exchanger, or on an auxiliary  plate heat exchanger. Temperatures can range from sub pasteurization to UHT (280F), and hold times can vary from 3 seconds to 2 minutes. The product can be homogenized on a Niro 2-stage homogenizer at pressures of up to 6000 psi. A HEPA filtered hood is also in-line to allow for sanitary filling of the processed product.
