Nigel completed his B.S. degree in Food Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May 2020. As an undergraduate he worked in a microbiology laboratory, where he completed a summer research program under the mentorship of Dr. Tu Anh Huynh; completed an R&D internship at Profile Food Ingredients, a dry food blending company that specializes in stabilizer/emulsifier systems; worked as a caterer and bartender; volunteered as a teacher in a middle school; and competed in an IFTSA product development competition. He joined the Ismail Lab as an M.S. candidate in Spring 2021. His current research focuses on the protein profiling and characterization of diverse oat lines.
