I've taken the road less traveled to get through my education and into my postdoc. I grew up in the Chicago area and then completed my BA in math and chemistry at DePauw University (in Indiana). Then, I went to Purdue University and completed my MS in synthetic inorganic chemistry, after which I switched to Food Science and completed a second MS (fatty acids and mercury in fish) as well as my PhD (polyphenols, bone health, and food toxicology). I now work as a Nutrition postdoc in Dr. Hill Gallant's lab, focusing on mineral metabolism in Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD).
