Congratulations to two teams from the department on making the finals of the Research Chef's Association (RCA) Student Culinology Savory Competition. Only six teams from across the nation are selected to take part in the finals. 

Members of the first team are Daniel Vladovar, Alex Cummins and Shelia Vaidyanathan. Second team members include William Dao, Yi Chen, Shannon Dean and Kia Kivi. They are advised by associate professor Tonya Schoenfuss.

Student teams had to develop a proposal for an item suitable for a fast casual concept restaurant (i.e. Jason's Deli, Chipotle, Panera). The item had to be an all-natural, clean label product with Kentucky inspiration.

The teams will compete at the annual RCA Convention in Louisville, Kentucky on March 14.
