Dr. Renee Korczak has been promoted to an assistant teaching professor, as announced by FSCN Interim Department Head Dan Gallaher.
In this position, Korczak will server as the primary instructor for principles of nutrition in addition to sports nutrition.
Korczak is no stranger to the department, as she earned her Ph.D. in Human Nutrition under the guidance of Dr. Joanne Slavin. She also served as a graduate teaching assistant in several nutrition courses while earning her degree. In January 2015, she was hired as a department lecturer to teach principles of nutrition, sports nutrition and also co-instructed advanced human nutrition. Additionally, in January 2016 she began a post-doctoral fellowship in the department, working on several research projects centered around digestive health.
Korczak received her B.S. in nutrition at the University of Connecticut, M.A. in medical nutrition sciences at the Boston University School of Medicine and completed her dietetic internship at Iowa State in 2014.
