The Minnesota section of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) recently announced its annual scholarship and travel award winners, and several FSCN students were recipients.
Graduate student Vaidhyanathan Anantharamkrishnan was the recipient of the Elwood F. Caldwell Scholarship Award for Volunteer Service. The scholarship is given in recognition of FScN professor emeritus Elwood Caldwell for his many years of service to the section. With his demonstrated volunteer and leadership activities, Anantharamkrishnan received a $2,250 scholarship and award.
Additionally, five $1,500 scholarships were awarded to students from the department. Recipients included undergraduate Lucy Hansen, Master's students Claire Boyle and Jenny Hayek, and Ph.D. students Sravanthi Budaraju and Chelsey Hinnencamp.
Travel awards ($600) were also given to Hansen, Boyle, Budaraju, Anantharamkrishnan, Jaya Banjade, Misen Luu and Yara Licceth Benavides Paz.
