The Department of Food Science and Nutrition (FSCN) is embarking on an innovative strategy that reflects the collaborative needs, wants and desires of the department, college, and university along with the confluence of outside sectors, disciplines and cultures which fully supports a new funding model, shared leadership, and a shift in our cultural perspectives.
Program
Along with Professor Kumar Mallikarjunan (Department Head for FSCN), business owners, food industry scientists, inventors, and an entrepreneurial dietitian will openly discuss their views on:
- Building student skills, character, and competencies for the workforce needs of the 21st century
- Identify key areas of strategic focus to best prepare our food science and nutrition students for future jobs
- Discuss strategic approaches as food science and nutrition moves toward our FSCN Vision: “Innovating Together to Improve Health Through Food”
