Changing Email Account, Calendar and Active Directory Options:
Update passwords, email forwarding, calendar and set up your active directory account, etc. at http://www.umn.edu/dirtools. Problems with your U of M email and calendar accounts – please call 1-HELP (612-301-4357).
Activate your Active Directory Account to log into FScN departmental computers:
Go to http://www.umn.edu/dirtools .
Log in with your university username and password
Click on “Active Directory Account Options
Choose to activate your University of Minnesota Active Directory account
Click the Submit button
Close Window/Log Out
If you don’t have an option to activate your active directory account option, then contact cfans.help@umn.edu .
FScN Student Distribution Lists
The FScN Department has distribution lists set up for distributing information for students. If you are not receiving the FScN updates, contact Geri Skogen, gskogen@umn.edu, 4-4789 to verify that you are on the FScN student distribution lists. If you have chosen to have your email information suppressed, you will not be able to be added to the distribution lists.
Computer Checkout
There are three laptop computers that are available for checkout for classroom/presentation purposes. Please check these computers out through Sue Winkelman, swinkelm@umn.edu, 4-9755 in 225 FScN or on-line through UMCal (the University calendaring system). See Sue Winkelman for instructions on using the online checkout. If you are unfamiliar with the departmental laptops and presentation equipment, it is probably best to try setting it up before the actual presentation date. All FScN classrooms and conference rooms (with the exception of 225G FScN) have been set up with the classroom management lectern systems and LCD projectors. For more information on how the laptops need to be configured to use with the lectern systems or LCD projectors see Laptop Display Settings: Requirements for Projection in Classrooms or Other Classroom Instructions and Laptop Self-Help .
