The faculty listed under "Department" are faculty that are actually housed in the Food Science and Nutrition Department.  Faculty listed under "Nutrition Graduate Program" are faculty associated with the Nutrition Graduate Program.  Faculty listed under "Food Science Graduate Program" are faculty associated with the Food Science Graduate Program.  Faculty listed under "Extension" have dual appointments with Food Science and Nutrition and University of Minnesota Extension.  Faculty listed under "Adjunct" are Ph.D's from the community and industry that support the department in teaching, research and outreach missions.

Graduate Student Prospective Students - Please note there are two different graduate program columns- Nutrition Graduate program faculty and Food Science Graduate Program faculty. Each admissible applicant's file is circulated to graduate faculty members looking for an advisee. Faculty interested in advising an applicant will contact them directly. If you have one or two specific Nutrition or Food Science program faculty members with whom you would like to work, you may contact them directly to discuss your background and why you are interested in working with them, but limit these contacts to the few faculty members whose work truly interests you.
