  Course Description:
 

Concepts and principles of risk assessment applied to dietary supplements (category under which most herbals fall).  Laws/regulations and interpretations of laws/regulations concerning dietary supplements.  Philosophy and use of botanicals and nutraceuticals in Western medicine in contrast to some other cultures.  Common herbal supplements and use in Western medical tradition.
